The 2022 China Fashion Industrial Design Conference took place in Xiangzhou District on Dec 10, gathering 45 prestigious clothing brand representatives and fashion designers to explore the future development of industrial design and the fashion industry.

Sun Ruizhe, chairman of the China National Textile and Apparel Council, noted that industrial design is required in the whole industrial chain of the textile and apparel industry. He also stated that industrial design is a creative field featuring technology, arts, humanity, and engineering.

Zhuhai Mayor Huang Zhihao spoke highly of the influences of industrial design on the development of the fashion industry, which has promoted the transformation from factor-driven to innovation-driven.

Huang added that Zhuhai is not only a city with charming and romantic scenery, but also an ideal place for people to build and achieve their dreams. The city has cultivated excellent industrial and fashion enterprises and is now focusing on the construction of tourist attractions such as the Zhuhai Space Center and Chimelong Marine Science Park.

Huang expressed his hope that attendees of the conference can make full use of the event to enhance cooperation, and further the development of fashion industrial design.

A promotional event was held during the conference, announcing that Xiangzhou will allocate more than 10 million yuan ($1.4 million) annually to support the growth of the local fashion industry. Its aim is to develop Zhuhai's reputation as a "city of fashion" in three years.

The district will attract powerful fashion enterprises and brands to Xiangzhou and form an industrial cluster with a value of 10 billion yuan ($1 billion).

A strategic cooperation agreement was signed by Xiangzhou District Government and the China Textile Information Center during the conference. The two sides will deepen cooperation to turn Zhuhai into a regional cultural model in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

Six fashion enterprises including ANNASPEAK and as well as six designer brands like JIAMUYANGREXI signed to set up stores in Xiangzhou at the conference. Moreover, 42 industrial design centers and enterprises received the title of "China Textile Industrial Design Center."
