Major Zhuhai transportation projects move forward
Transportation projects in Zhuhai have achieved remarkable achievements through continuous construction efforts made even during the week-long National Day Holiday, which ran from Oct 1 to 7.
A new overpass across East Meihua Road near Sea & Sky (Haitian) Park and the 5th Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University has recently opened to the public.
The dragon-boat style overpass is equipped with accessible ramps, spiral stairs, and lifts. It includes gradually varied lights that make it look more dynamic at night. The facility also connects the Fenghuang Mt and Jigong Hill sections of Xiangshan Cloud Walkway.

More than 5,000 workers stayed at the construction site of Huangmao Sea Channel. Five main towers on the Huangmao Sea Channel and Gaolan Port bridges have now reached the height of over 100 m (328 ft). Construction on four interchanges of the project has been moving forward and 55 percent of the approaching bridges have been finished, as well as 70 percent of the tunneling of the Xiangshan Tunnel.
Huangmao Sea Channel, which is expected to finish construction in 2024, is a major project for the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge to influence west Guangdong Province and to lead the development of the city cluster on the west bank of the Pearl River Estuary.
Elsewhere in Shangchong area of Xiangzhou District, most of the road marking of the 4.9-km (3-mile) overall renovation project of National Expressway G105 (Gudu Avenue) has been finished and asphalt pavement on the dual eight-lane road has made the artery smoother, bringing a better travel experience for motorists.
Construction of the renovation project started in April and works, such as greenbelts, cross-operations on water areas, and new overpasses, are underway.
