Qingmao Checkpoint achieves fruitful outcomes after one year
Qingmao Checkpoint marked its first anniversary on Sept 8 and has now become one of the busiest checkpoints in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, with a total passenger volume exceeding 10 million, ranking second nationwide.
It is the sixth checkpoint for passengers and the third one offering 24/7 service between Macao and Zhuhai. The number of passengers crossing the border at Qingmao Checkpoint from 12 am to 8 am has now exceeded 2.2 million.
The checkpoint's highest daily passenger volume of 176,300 people was recorded on Aug 4, due to the temporary closure of Gongbei Checkpoint, which was adjusting its COVID-19 pandemic prevention and control measures.

A one-hour living circle covering Zhuhai and Macao has gradually taken shape, with passengers able to pass customs clearance in 20 seconds from 50 fast channels at any time of the day at Qingmao Checkpoint due to the implementation of the "Joint Inspection & One-Time Release" system.
Dedicated staffed channels are also open for schoolchildren and the physically challenged. To date, these services have benefited 350,000 schoolchildren.
On-site information collection and filing services for passengers are available at the checkpoint so that they can access the self-service border-crossing service, while an emergency channel gives priority to those with special needs, such as pregnant women and patients in urgent need of medical treatment.
It is expected that the prosperous development of checkpoints will further increase connectivity between Guangdong and Macao. It will also help promote the integrated development of Guangdong and Macao, as well as Zhuhai and Macao, continuously creating advantages for Macao's integration into the country's development.
