Qingmao Checkpoint, one of the busiest checkpoints in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, has served 10 million passengers as of Aug 25, nearly one year after it began operation on Sept 8, 2021.

The total passenger volume of the checkpoint in its first month of operation reached 600,000, while its highest daily passenger volume of 176,300 people was recorded on Aug 4, 2022.

Passengers are able to pass customs clearance in 20 seconds from 50 fast channels at any time of the day at Qingmao Checkpoint due to the implementation of the "Joint Inspection & One-Time Release" system. Dedicated staffed channels are also open for schoolchildren and the disabled.

On-site information collection and filing services for passengers are available at the checkpoint so that they can access the self-service border-crossing service, while an emergency channel gives priority to those with special needs, such as patients in urgent need of medical treatment.

In addition, the checkpoint has deepened a coordinated communication mechanism in checkpoint law enforcement and has strengthened information sharing with Macao to release early warnings of passenger peaks and open more channels in advance.
