Apron 3 of Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport recently passed an industrial acceptance inspection and will add 10 new aircraft stands once operational.

The 200,000-sq-m (49-acre) area was converted from the outdoor exhibition area of the Zhuhai Airshow Center with an investment of over 50 million yuan ($8 million).

Construction started on June 1, 2020 and was completed on Dec 14, 2021. The facility covers 13,686 sq m (3.4 acres) in reconstructed pavement, a 17,000-sq-m new taxiway, 1,906-m (half-acre) boundary line, as well as corresponding navigation lights, firefighting, security, and monitoring facilities.

Zhuhai Airport now possesses 23 aircraft stands. The 10 new remote stands of Apron 3 will address the need for aircraft parking space as the airport is undergoing renovation and expansion for a second terminal.
