Initial Airport Urban Rail Transit bullet train delivered
The first CRH6A bullet train for the intercity MRT from downtown to Zhuhai (Jinwan) Airport was delivered by CRRC Guangdong on May 27.
An improved version of the CRH2, the intercity express train has faster starting/stopping and boarding/alighting times and greater capacity for medium- and short-distance trips. It promises to sustain the advanced, mature, economical, adaptable, and reliable features of the CRH series.

Last May, CRRC Guangdong won the 1.2-billion-yuan ($168-million) contract to manufacture nine CRH6A bullet trains with a designed speed of 200 kmph (124 mph).
The 39.48-km (24.5-mile) Zhuhai Airport Urban Rail Transit is an extension of the Guangzhou-Zhuhai Intercity MRT that forms a significant part of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macro transport network.
The first phase of the line spans 16.86 km (10.48 miles) from Intercity MRT Zhuhai Station in Gongbei to Hengqin Chimelong Station in Hengqin New Area. Both stations are aboveground. Stops en route include the underground Wanzai North, Wanzai, Shizimen, Hengqin North, and Hengqin stations. Considered a "Metro Line" in Zhuhai, 90 percent is below ground.
The section is eligible for operation, but the official opening date is yet to be determined.
