Cleared overseas-study students bide time in hospital
The final two recovered COVID-19 patients arriving in Zhuhai from overseas are both study-abroad students who must finish a 14-day medical observation at the 5th Affiliated Hospital of Sun Yat-sen University.
Ms Zhao, age 22, returned from the UK in March and was diagnosed COVID-19. The young woman was evaluated to have recovered by April 23.
Since the pandemic outbreak, Zhuhai has recorded 103 confirmed infections. Five cases arriving from elsewhere include two foreigners and three Chinese students studying in the UK. All 98 native local patients had been released from the hospital as of March 10. One, however, had succumbed.
Despite there currently being no hospitalized COVID-19-positive patients in Zhuhai, measures are still in effect to prevent domestic resurgence or imported cases from other virus-hit countries and regions, advised the Health Bureau. Residents should continue to wear protective masks when going out, wash hands frequently, and avoid gatherings.
Mr Chen, who studies in the UK, was confirmed with COVID-19 on March 20 and cleared by April 23.
