Institute strengthens Jinwan's new-materials industry
The Jinwan Advanced Materials Research Institute came a step closer to becoming China's leading new-materials innovation base as several projects were contracted on March 28.
Agreements were signed during a networking event for the aviation and aerospace new-materials industry. It was attended by more than 150 enterprise representatives, industry insiders, and experts at the institute in Dingjiawan Industrial Park.
The institute formed a partnership with a national innovative and entrepreneurial demonstration base construction platform (www.avicui.com) established by Aviation Industry Corp of China. They plan industry-university-institute cooperation to incubate quality projects through infusion of capital and access to domestic and international resources.

The Innovation & Entrepreneurship Institute of the Industrial Culture Development Center of the Ministry of Industry & Information Technology will create a regional coordinated development think tank to provide intellectual support for Jinwan’s development, asserted a local official.
Meanwhile, the Jinwan Advanced Materials Research Institute’s new status as a State-level International Joint Research Center is seen as evidence of its ability to handle these projects and others at a world level. And, according to a representative of the Ministry of Science & Technology, the institute will be eligible for government subsidies.

The agenda also included analysis of new-material investment directions, industrial projects, and financial institutions. A proposal was made to build an electrochromic industry alliance.
The Jinwan Advanced Materials Research Institute, home to more than 20 companies, was founded last Nov 6. Its State-level International Joint Research Center, industrial incubation space, talent service center, test center, talent apartments, and other facilities serve Jinwan District's aviation and aerospace development.
More projects can be expected as a result of large rent subsidies and generous awards based on contributions. Purchases made in accord with Jinwan's Superior-Quality (Industrial) Product Recommendation Catalog will also be subsidized, added the local official.
