The signing of a strategic cooperation agreement between Dun & Bradstreet and the South Hongqiao administrative committee on Saturday is a clear reflection of the spillover effect of the China International Import Expo, the company's China managing director Wu Guangyu said.

An integral part of the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District, South Hongqiao covers 48 square kilometers and is currently home to more than 8,000 companies.

According to the agreement, the global business data and analytics provider will set up an office in South Hongqiao by the end of this year. The new office, said Wu, will be also positioned to serve Dun & Bradstreet in Asia Pacific region and leverage business data analysis to empower the development of companies located in the area as well as promote the high-quality economic development of the Shanghai Hongqiao International Central Business District.

Dun & Bradstreet, which made its first appearance at the CIIE last year, has been "extremely satisfied" with the results it has gotten from attending the annual expo, said Wu. These results include an expansion of the company's customer base and wider exposure of its modularized data services in the Chinese market. Wu said that the company was able to connect with more potential clients, including local governments, State-owned enterprises, major financial institutions as well as small and medium-sized enterprises, through the expo.

The CIIE has also served as a platform for Dun & Bradstreet to better understand the advantages of the Hongqiao area. Wu noted that the area's extensive transportation network, comprehensive infrastructure and sufficient talent supply can help companies connect easily with their counterparts located across the Yangtze River Delta region.

Setting up an office in Hongqiao will help Dun & Bradstreet better address China's efforts to carry out the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region, he added.
