Fishing boats set sail as moratorium ends in Qingdao WCNA
The four-month long fishing moratorium in East China's Shandong province came to an end on Sept 1, and fishermen were busy checking their boats, mending nets, replenishing fuel supplies and restocking ice at Jimiya Port in Qingdao West Coast New Area (Qingdao WCNA).
Following government orders, hundreds of fishing boats set sail from the port with high expectations of good catches, and diners await a grand banquet full of delicious seafood after the fishermen return.
The summer fishing moratorium is part of China's efforts to promote sustainable fishery development and improve the marine ecology.
