Six tourist attractions in East China's Shandong were included in the first list of national nighttime culture and tourism consumption clusters, according to the Ministry of Culture and Tourism on Nov 21.
There are a total of 120 tourist attractions across the country on the list, which was created following the nation's move to bolster the nighttime economy through the use of cultural and historical resources.
The six places in Shandong are: the Historical Area of Jinan City, the "Impression Jinan Spring World" commercial block, the Jimo ancient town in Qingdao, the Taierzhuang ancient town in Zaozhuang, Nishan Sacred Land in Qufu, and the Tai'an Old Street Scenic Area.
Shandong has in recent years stepped up efforts to promote the nighttime economy to stimulate consumption amid the pandemic. A slew of supportive measures has been rolled out to balance epidemic prevention and control with economic and social development.
Efforts have also been made to provide better services and enrich cultural and tourism products. Cultural and tourism departments in the province will also develop characteristic cultural brands to promote the integrated development of culture and tourism.
