Shandong celebrates China Tourism Day
The province of Shandong has launched a series of tourism promotional activities to celebrate China Tourism Day, which falls on May 19.

Shandong launched the celebrations at the Sunac Cultural Tourism City, a complex for shopping, culture, tourism, and sports in Jinan, the provincial capital.
Wang Chunsheng, an official from the Shandong Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, said that this year's China Tourism Day will highlight the integrated, green and high-quality development of culture and tourism.
Wang noted that Shandong will develop more green tourism products, strive to raise the quality of tourism, diversify the supply of tourism products, and provide personalized services.

In a bid to attract more visitors and fuel the recovery of the tourism industry, the province's 16 cities have launched 222 activities and 346 policies.
Seventeen scenic spots in Jinan launched a series of free and discounted tours themed on the city's spring resources. Eleven A-level scenic spots in Qingdao West Coast New Area are offering a 50-percent discount to tourists from May 19 to 20.
Jining, home to a number of cultural sites related to the Party and revolutionary history, is promoting red tourism routes. Weihai, a coastal city with picturesque landscapes, is promoting driving tours.
A total of 6 million yuan ($933,600) in tourism consumption vouchers will also be distributed in Shandong to attract more visitors.
