Penglai museum tells story of ancient ships
Penglai Ancient Ship Museum, located in Penglai district, Yantai, East China's Shandong province, is home to the largest and most diverse collection of ancient ships in the country.
The museum displays four ancient ships and cultural relics from the Yuan (1271-1368) and Ming (1368-1644) dynasties, which witnessed the ancient Maritime Silk Road.
More than 900 cultural relics in the museum are of great value for the study of ancient ports, which also highlight the world's leading ship making techniques in ancient China and development of foreign trade along the Maritime Silk Road.
