Nearly 12,000 people participated in the selection and 1,744 votes were received by the organizers.
The participants selected the top 60 cultural and tourism products from among 600 options in six categories -- scenic spots, cultural performances, cultural venues, cuisine and food streets, featured hotels and homestays, and specialties and souvenirs.
In addition to Japan, South Korea, Southeast Asia, Europe, the United States, and China's Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, which are among the largest sources of tourists for Shandong, potential markets such as Australia and Central Asia were also involved in the selection.
The event is designed to promote Shandong's tourism and cultural resources, raise its international profile, and attract more tourists to the province, said Shandong authorities.
