Liaocheng, East China's Shandong province started a campaign to promote winter tourism in the city on Dec 10.

Lasting until next February, the campaign includes eight themed activities highlighting the city's unique culture and tourism resources, such as Grand Canal culture, Water Margin culture, hot spring tours, and lantern festivals. Over ten tourist routes have been launched for visitors from all over the world.

Many preferential policies and discounts will be offered by scenic spots, hotels, restaurants and enterprises to meet the diverse needs of tourists, boost the tourism sector and promote the city's economic and social development.

Linqing, a county-level city in Liaocheng, also promoted its renowned scenic spots and preferential policies.

Several cities in Shandong have launched their own policies to promote winter tourism and boost local economic development.
