Shandong launches logo and mascot competition

Having already launched a project to promote Shandong provincial culture and public involvement due to run from July to October, the local authorities recently called upon the general public to submit logo and mascot entries to represent the eastern Chinese province.

Logo and mascot basics

Logos and mascots submission should demonstrate artistic merit, creative thinking, and represent elements of Shandong’s rich culture and history. Winners can expect to receive between 2,000 yuan ($290.45) and 5,000 yuan.

Logo

Designs should be clear, creative, precise, easy to understand, and useful in promoting regional culture. Entries should be included in a single document and accompanied by an explanation of no more than 300 words.

Mascot

Entries should be cartoon in style, charming, inspiring, brightly-colored, and reflective of regional culture. Entrants should consider the ease with which the mascot can be produced for commercial use as well as its appearance on advertisements, billboards, and posters. Entries should include a sketch and an explanation of the entry in no more than 300 words.
