The 2019 National Economic and Technological Development Zone International Cooperation Eco-Park Joint Conference opened in Nantong, in southeast Jiangsu province, on Nov 14.

Sponsored by the Green Development Alliance of the National Economic and Technology Development Zones and hosted by the China-Austria Su-Tong Eco-park, the event had representatives from 45 domestic parks and zones sharing their experiences of park construction.

Pan Jianhua, vice-mayor of Nantong, Qiang Qiang, Party secretary of Nantong Economic and Technological Development Area and Su-Tong Science and Technology Park, were present at the event.

Representatives of Jiangsu and Zhejiang provinces detailed the development of their parks of international cooperation. And representatives of Qingdao Sino-German Eco-park, Sino-German Taicang Innovative Park and China-Singapore Guangzhou Knowledge City made keynote speeches. The event, featuring thematic discussions and sharing of experiences in construction and development of international cooperation parks, were also carried out during the event.

China-Austria Su-Tong Eco-park, Nantong's first national-level international cooperation platform, adheres to the development concept of ecological priority and quality first, focuses on the coordinated development of the economy and ecology in its overall design, and emphasizes integrating international and domestic industrial advantages in planning its development.

Its leading industries–new energy, energy conservation and environmental protection, and precision manufacturing – have been encouraged to have intensive, low-carbon and high-end development. With high-quality companies settling their headquarters and research and development centers there, the park has now formed a "two-wheel drive" development pattern to have mutual promotion of the modern service industry and strategic emerging industries.

In the future, Su-Tong Eco-park will further enhance the level of international cooperation, improve the level of economic cooperation, and optimize the supporting urban facilities to create a high-quality and influential park in the Yangtze River Delta region.
