Zhangjiagang's consumption market was thriving during the New Year's Day holiday, with the deep integration of culture, tourism, and commerce creating a prosperous and vibrant atmosphere.
The "Luminous Market" at the Jinmao Lanxiu City gathered over 70 creative stalls, attracting more than 200,000 visitors over four days, with 150,000 people participating in the New Year's Eve countdown event. Jiyang Lake Amusement Park transformed into a snow-themed park, and Jiangnan Farming Culture Park launched a range of New Year-themed activities, allowing tourists to experience the festive atmosphere amid traditional Chinese culture.

The city library launched a New Year's reading event, while the Chengnan Cultural and Sports Center hosted a blue calico intangible cultural heritage art exhibition. The Zhangjiagang Museum and Zhangjiagang Art Gallery also offered engaging cultural activities, providing residents and tourists with diverse cultural options.

Key shopping districts and commercial complexes across the city launched various creative promotional activities, effectively igniting consumer enthusiasm. From Dec 31, 2025, to Jan 3, 2026, 10 major commercial retail enterprises achieved total sales of 66.88 million yuan ($9.59 million), an increase of 22.8 percent over last year.
