From January to November, Zhangjiagang's total import and export volume reached 255.1 billion yuan ($36.22 billion), representing an increase of 3.1 percent from last year. Exports accounted for 142.22 billion yuan, growing by 8.6 percent.

Behind this impressive performance is the coordinated effort of enterprises, logistics hubs, and supportive policies.

Zhangjiagang Junma Polyester Products, for instance, has focused on innovation and expanded into several new markets such as Southeast Asia, Japan, South Korea, and Africa. By December, the company was operating at full capacity, with orders fully booked in advance.

Yongjia Container Terminal, one of Zhangjiagang's logistics hubs, has enhanced its operations by obtaining hazardous materials handling qualifications and implementing one-on-one dedicated services. As a result, its container throughput increased by 9.65 percent compared to last year, and foreign trade export volume grew by 6.51 percent in the first 11 months.
