Conference held to develop digital trade

Global Digital Trade (Cross-border E-commerce) Conference opened in Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District (CBD) on Nov 6, gathering over 400 officials and experts from home and abroad.

Co-organized by United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) and China Association of Trade in Service (CATIS), the conference provided an excellent communication platform for trade organizations and companies from all over the world to accelerate the development of digital trade.

Kris Peeters, deputy prime minister of Belgium, pointed out that digital trade plays an irreplaceable role in the facilitation of international trade.

Zhang Liping, senior economic affairs officer of UNCTAD, said at the conference that the development prospect of digital trade and cross-border e-commerce is promising, especially in developing countries.

Agreements between CATIS and foreign institutions and companies such as China Association for Promotion of Economy and Trade, Canada-China Federation of Entrepreneurs and Mexican Chamber of Commerce in China were signed to introduce more high-quality goods and service into Chinese market.
