According to the “Key Supporting List of the Development of Industries in Hongqiao Central Business District (CBD)” issued by the district’s administrative committee, the CBD seeks to attract top businesses to form a headquarter economy and focus on the promotion of high-end business, trade and modern logistics.
The supporting list features three aspects:
1、Focus on and facilitate the development of the modern service industry
Hongqiao CBD is a new platform and an important driver in Shanghai’s aim to develop an international trade center. It is set to focus on the development of modern service industry, and rely on business and trade.
2、Strive to develop the Headquarters Economy
The district plans to attract large enterprises in China to establish their general headquarters there. It especially hopes to attract companies located within the Yangtze River Delta, as well as foreign investment institutions. Regional headquarters of multinational corporations, R&D centers, purchasing centers, financial management centers and funds settlement centers are all welcome in the district to fulfill the aim of gathering a large number of international, regional and trading institutions and different kinds of guilds and chambers of commerce in Hongqiao CBD.
3、Primarily engage in financial and investing services in the Yangtze River Delta
It will do this to develop professional service industries, including legal, accountancy and consultation industries, to provide international high-end economic development and promote regional economic and trade cooperation in Yangtze River Delta.
Industries supported by the “Key Supporting List of the Development of Industries in Hongqiao Central Business District” can be classified into 12 main categories and 62 subcategories.
The 12 main categories are modern business and trade, real estate, exhibition and tourism, production-oriented services, creative industry, modern logistics, information services, professional services, financial services, cultural services, educational training as well as medical services and other environment and public facilities management related services.
