The launching ceremony for the Swiss Center in Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District (CBD) was held on Oct 12, acting as a complement to the Swiss pavilion to be set up during the upcoming China International Import Expo (CIIE).

The Swiss pavilion during the CIIE is designed to showcase the country's latest achievements in innovation, culture and tourism through a series of exhibits.

"The launch of the Swiss Center in Shanghai Hongqiao CBD will act to introduce more Swiss companies to participate in the CIIE," said Xiao Zhen, CEO of Swiss Center China.

Being a globally renowned first-class CBD, Shanghai Hongqiao CBD enjoys an excellent working and living environment, clustering well-equipped auxiliary facilities such as international schools and hospitals and possessing an integrated transport hub, incorporating Hongqiao International Airport, Hongqiao Railway Station, subway lines, bus stations and public parking lots, with a daily passenger flow of 1.2 million.

Nicolas Musy, founder of the Swiss Center, said that after 18 years of development, the Swiss Center in Shanghai Hongqiao CBD is the fifth such center in China. The center will provide a platform for Swiss companies to seek development opportunities in China and offer support for the development of the Sino-Swiss bilateral relationship in trade.
