The Spanish government will encourage its enterprises to attend the China International Import Expo, a representative of Spain's Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness said recently.
Speaking at the expo's first promotional activity held in Madrid, capital of Spain, the representative said that the exhibition areas at the expo almost tally with the export industries of Spain, such as renewable energy, biological medicine, tourism and agricultural products.
"Spain's Secretary of State for Trade will lead a business delegation to attend the expo," he confirmed.
This year marks the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Spain, said Lyu Fan, Chinese ambassador to Spain, at the activity. Spain is one of China's comprehensive strategic cooperation partners and is an important ally in ensuring the success of the Belt and Road Initiative.
Lyu said that the expo has chosen Spain as the first stop for its global roadshow, showing how much importance it attaches to the Spanish market. He hopes that the expo will become a platform where the Spanish government and enterprises can show their achievements, launch international trade and develop new markets.
The overall organization of the expo was introduced and local enterprises and institutions expecting to attend the expo made personal exchanges with the delegation from the China International Import Expo Bureau at the activity.
