To promote four major Shanghai Brands

In order to construct an international metropolis, four major Shanghai Brands: service, manufacturing, shopping and culture should be advanced, according to Li Qiang, Party secretary of Shanghai municipal committee.

Hongqiao Central Business District, as part of Shanghai, should contribute its share to final target of the city.

To promote the brand of Shanghai Service, the CBD needs to become an important part of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Yangtze River Economic Zone and a new driver of economic development by relying on its mature traffic system and vast hinterland.

The CBD needs to draw on its strength on MICE industry (meeting, incentive, convention and exhibition) to establish service platforms for product display, market expansion, trade and negotiation.

The CBD needs to also help the other districts achieve industrial transformation and upgrading and change its imbalanced development between urban and rural areas.

To promote the brand of Shanghai Manufacturing, the CBD needs to continue to develop its time-honored brands and also support the development of new brands. The focus should be the high-end manufacturing industry.

The supporting facilities for MICE industry needs to be further improved and a group of renowned exhibitions, conferences and MICE enterprises need to be introduced to the CBD.

To promote the brand of Shanghai Shopping, the CBD needs to create a more convenient shopping environment and gather more high-end brands from around the world to construct a more distinctive business circle.

To promote the brand of Shanghai Culture, the CBD needs to nurture a more competitive cultural industry based on its rich resources in red culture, Shanghai-style culture and South-China culture and introduce more performances to its cultural market.
