9. Quality exhibition boosts industrial development in Hongqiao CBD

As has been witnessed throughout 2016, quality exhibitions are driving a smart revolution in Hongqiao CBD. Visitors who have been to the National Exhibition and Convention Center over the past year can certainly attest to the phenomenon.

The National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) (NECC) in the CBD has been taking measures to ensure that the local exhibition industry achieves sustainable growth. The arena hosted a series of popular exhibitions last year, including the 2016 China International Industry Fair (CIIF), Shanghai Industrial Fair and Automechanika Shanghai, receiving awesome feedback based on some of the finest network technology applications.

These include the introduction of big data technology, sensor technology, free wireless network connection and some logistical improvements.

Meanwhile, the CBD is accelerating the process of developing exhibition-related industries such as warehouse and logistic services and more policies will be introduced to support a high caliber, meeting-focused exhibition industry as well as the development of an exhibition-related professional service industry.

The CBD also plans to host at least five major exhibitions and at least 30 small and medium-sized ones over the next five years.
