4. Business, tourism and culture events vibrant in Hongqiao CBD

The past year has proved a culturally rich year in Hongqiao CBD, especially during the second half of 2016. The area has held a panoply of vibrant events that reflect the region's aspiration to stand as a business, cultural and tourism destination. 

The project was originally launched on May 1 under the title "The business, tourism and culture demonstration event". With a series of promotional activities planned throughout the year, Hongqiao CBD aims to create a platform to keep the general public informed and celebrate its many achievements.

A series of events offered a smorgasbord of delicacies to foodies in Hongqiao. Some of the most popular included the Savor Food Festival, which acted as the entrée with five chefs from Michelin-starred restaurants specially flown into Shanghai, and a four-day beer festival bringing a real slice of Bavaria to China.

On the artistic side of things, a series of piano concerts were held in celebration of Mozart's 260th birthday, commemorating the invaluable legacy of the Classical era composer. A design exhibition themed "What is Good Design?" ushered in the latest pop trends to Hongqiao Tiandi. A lighting display by the French Lyon Light Festival brought visitors multidimensional experiences.

The business district plans on hosting even more exciting events in 2017 so as to ensure Hongqiao CBD remains a vibrant and relevant location in the Shanghai entertainment scene.
