3. Major projects made great strides in 2016

Hongqiao CBD showcased its capability in engineering construction over the last year, finishing off the construction of 338 buildings in its core area out of the total 352 buildings. The construction of 11 commercial projects comprising 170 buildings has been completed.

A majority of the 21 planned underground walkways have been put into use facilitating movement between various commercial and office buildings. A batch of commercial projects including New Hualian Sofitel Hotel, Hongqiao Tiandi and Macrolink Shopping Mall have been opened, diversifying the entertainment choices in the area.
