2. Hongqiao CBD initiates coordinated development pattern

Hongqiao CBD has launched its new development strategy, which will prioritize developing its "core area" while also maintaining its push to develop its "four part areas", based on the CBD's 13th Five-Year Plan.

The core area of Hongqiao CBD will focus on attracting more companies to set up headquarters in the zone and strengthening the availability of high-end business services to develop the CBD into a modernized world-class business zone.

The northern area of Hongqiao is planned to be built into a large residential cluster featuring abundant medical, education and cultural resources.

The eastern area of Hongqiao will become a world-class cluster for aviation companies and aviation service organizations.

The western area of Hongqiao will become Shanghai's main venue for conferences and exhibitions, while its northern counterpart will be developed into a hub for business innovation and entrepreneurship.
