Calligraphers in Shanghai's Minhang district are volunteering to write Spring Festival couplets to send wishes of hope and prosperity to local residents. The traditional custom event recently came to the Hongqiao Railway Station and Hongqiao Airport as well.
Though eagerly returning home, passengers were surrounded with the wave of vibrant New Year joy and filled with the warm spirit of Spring Festival. Many people received a pair of Spring Festival couplets and calligraphy of Chinese character "Fu," or blessings.

Several artists also made sugar figurines for travelers, well-received by especially the kids. A spoon of sugar reminds all the sweetness of childhood, said Zheng Jie, a father of two children.
Having prepared nearly 100 Spring Festival couplets in advance, it was still time pressed for calligraphers on their work facing the enthusiasm of travelers. "Though a little bit tired, but we are glad as our works accompany them all along their trips over the country." said one calligrapher.
