The top 10 news items relevant to Hongqiao Central Business District (CBD) in 2015 were selected by our readers. They were whittled down through a process of recommendation, voting and selecting at a news selection activity organized by Hongqiao Business, a newspaper reporting the development and construction of Hongqiao (CBD).

1. The construction of major projects in core area of Hongqiao CBD are completed 

   
   

A total of 352 buildings had been under construction at the end of 2015. 288 of them were completed, achieving the annual goal of 282 ahead of time. 

2. Hongqiao CBD determined to strengthen industry and city integration 

Yang Xiong, mayor of Shanghai, stressed that Hongqiao CBD should abide by the government’s demand of 'high-quality development' during his visit to the district on May 28 last year. As one of the six major development zones in Shanghai, Yang asked the Hongqiao Central Business District to make full use of its advantages, continue to optimize regional planning, function positioning and industry layout, and strengthen overall planning and coordination to explore joint development mechanisms and actively use advanced technology to improve development.  

3. Administration Committee of Hongqiao CBD joins hands with four districts to build a world leading CBD

The Administrative Committee of Hongqiao Central Business District (CBD) jointly issued implementation guidelines on boosting the development of Hongqiao CBD with governments of Minhang, Changning, Qingpu and Jiading districts in September 2015. This was done to explore a joint innovation mechanism and create a world-leading central business district.
