Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District
Shanghai Hongqiao Central Business District (CBD) is comprised of four districts: Minhang, Jiading, Qingpu and Changning.
Minhang district
The portion of Minhang district in the Shanghai Hongqiao CBD contains Minhang’s western boundary, Suzhou River to the North and Waihuan Road, Beiqing Highway and Shanghai-Hangzhou railway. It covers approximately 30.22 square kilometers.
The district will strive to build an “International trade and Science & Technology City” featuring integrated industries, convenient transportation networks and an innovative and fashionable district.
Trade in technology-related products and services will be the main development focus and it seeks to build a commercial service platform for countries along the Silk Road Economic Belt and 21st Century Maritime Silk Road.
The district will strive to build an international medical service brand in the form of the Shanghai New Hongqiao International Medical Center and provide high-end supporting residential, educational, cultural and sporting facilities. It aims to become a demonstration site for the “Secondary Development” of Shanghai and urban governance innovation.
Jiading district
The part of Jiading district that lies in the Shanghai Hongqiao CBD covers 13 square kilometers, mostly of which lies south of the G42 Shanghai-Chengdu High Speed Railway.
The district will build corporate headquarters and residential area to expand development through industrial structure optimization.
Meanwhile, it will accelerate the pace of development projects to provide better urban commercial functionality, introduce high-quality services, promote industrial convergence development and build landmark building groups and headquarters clusters.
In addition, it will promote the greening of the Suzhou River landscape belt and Waihuan greenbelt to form a natural, green riverside landscape belt that integrates greenery with cultural and recreational functions.
