Hohhot has made significant achievements in the development of the big data industry over the past several years. Since 2011, Hohhot has attracted around 50 billion yuan ($7.2 billion) from China Telecom, China Mobile and China Unicom to build a national-level big data center.
On Nov 7, 2016, Hohhot held the big data industry negotiation conference, in which 38 cooperation project contracts were signed with technical companies including Baidu. In total, contracts worth 8 billion yuan were signed.
Meanwhile, Hohhot has enacted 10 measures to stimulate the development of the big data industry, including establishing a big data industry development fund, reducing operational costs and providing subsidies for related companies.
