Nanming lauded as demo for Chinese building economy development

Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, was recognized as a standard-leading demonstration district for China's building economy in 2024 at the 2024 Beijing Forum on China Building Economy on Sept 13.

First initiated in 2021, the Beijing Forum on China Building Economy aims to become an internationally influential conference brand to promote the high-quality development of the building economy. This year's forum was co-hosted by the World Trade Point Federation, the Building Economy and Headquarters Economy Branch of the China Association for the Promotion of Industrial Development, and the Jiqun Think Tank.

Nanming, the first in Guiyang to establish a dedicated government department for the development of the building economy, has been invited to participate in the selection every year since 2021 due to its innovative efforts and achievements in this field. It was the only district in Guiyang to be named a "High-Quality Development Benchmark Example of China's Building Economy" in 2021.

The district was also included in the white paper titled High-Quality Development of China's Building Economy for its experience in developing the building economy.

It has consistently optimized the spatial layout of its building economy, accelerating industrial clustering and optimization by integrating the building and digital economies. The district has also enhanced functional support, improved service systems, and upgraded building quality to strengthen the role of commercial buildings in supporting regional economic and social development.

Additionally, Nanming has focused on developing headquarters buildings and specialized industry buildings, attracting a large number of high-quality tech and service enterprises. The district has been providing comprehensive services to settled enterprises, including policy support, market analysis, infrastructure improvement, and financing assistance.

Nanming currently boasts over 100 commercial buildings, including eight recognized 100-million-yuan (14.25 million) buildings and three Grade A office buildings, housing more than 10,000 enterprises.
