During this year's May Day holiday from May 1 to 5, Nanming district in Guiyang city achieved a remarkable feat by securing the top spot in tourism revenue among all other districts in the city, underscoring its vibrant tourism scene.
During the holiday period, Nanming launched rich culture and tourism activities and enhanced the quality of its tourism services to meet the diverse and personalized consumption demands of visitors.
This strategic approach led to a significant increase in both tourist numbers and business revenue, significantly elevating the district's brand influence in the culture and tourism market.
Statistics from the district's culture and tourism bureau showed that Nanming witnessed a 34.2 percent year-on-year increase in tourist arrivals, ranking second citywide. While, it experienced a substantial 37.1 percent surge in tourism revenue, claiming the leading position in the city.
Throughout the May Day holiday, a total of 48 activities were held at locations such as Qingyun Market, the Cao Zhuangyuan Block, and the Haile Block.
The above mentioned places registered approximately 1.51 million tourist visits and generated sales of around 13.37 million yuan ($1.83 million).
In terms of accommodation choices, high-quality star-rated hotels and unique homestays in Nanming were well-received by tourists, with the average occupancy rate of many hotels exceeding 80 percent.
