The "Colorful Guizhou·Fantastic Flavors" event was officially launched on June 13 at the Qingyun Market in Nanming district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, to explore the flavors of Guizhou's food and the charm of its landscapes.

A group of food bloggers and internet celebrities are embarking on a seven-day journey, going deep into the cities of Guiyang, Zunyi, Anshun, Liupanshui, and Bijie, to taste the unique flavors of Guizhou's local cuisine such as sour soup, rice noodles, pot-stewed dishes and steamed buns, experiencing Guizhou's diverse local culture through its food.

With the rich and varied landscapes, rainy weather and diverse ethnic groups, Guizhou's ethnic lifestyles and fertile lands have created a strong connection between what they produce, what they eat, and their culture.

Guizhou's hidden sour, spicy, fresh and sticky flavors will be presented to the most popular food connoisseurs from Weibo, Douyin, Little Red Book and other food applications in an unprecedented fashion. With the help of their taste buds, opinions and suggestions, they will get acquainted with Guizhou's colorful and fantastic flavors, as more dishes from the region are being recognized by gastronomes around the country.

The event is being co-organized by the publicity department of the CPC Guizhou Provincial Committee and "The Outlook" magazine.

A grand opening ceremony was held at Qingyun Market, with "The Outlook" Vice Editor-in-Chief Li Wei, senior editing teams and other online celebrities searching for tasty experiences and checkpoints throughout the market, highlighting Guizhou's sour soup, rice noodles and other specialties.

Representative foodie Awei shared his memories of Guizhou's local cuisine from years ago. He said he longed for rice field fish in sour soup, as well as some bacon from black-haired pigs, and fresh balls of tofu that he had not tasted for many years.

He said he could not help rediscovering the fantastic Guizhou flavors and would strive to find even more to share with other food lovers.
