Around half the resident stores at Qingyun Market -- in the Nanming district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- had resumed operations by Oct 5, despite the lingering impact of the COVID-19 outbreak in the region.

At present, the market has 468 stores selling food, handicrafts, fashionable goods, souvenirs and the like.

Qingyun Road was built in 1927 and is a famous night market snacks street in Guiyang.

In 2020, to further raise the city's profile, Nanming started renovating and upgrading Qingyun Road Pedestrian Street into the new-look Qingyun Market.

The upgraded Qingyun Market opened to the public on Dec 11 last year and is home to more than 100 snack brands.

As a result, it has enjoyed rising popularity among residents and tourists and become a name card for Guiyang to develop its night-time economy.
