Nanming advances development of TCM, big health industries

Nanming district in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, attaches heavy importance to the development of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and health industries.

In 2020, Nanming became the only place in Guizhou to obtain the honorable title of Traditional Chinese Medicine Comprehensive Service Demonstration Zone.

Since then, Nanming has incorporated the construction of a comprehensive demonstration area for TCM services into its development plan for the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25) and its long-term plan for 2035.

It has successively formulated and issued such documents as the Big Health Industry Development Plan, the Traditional Chinese Medicine Service Comprehensive Demonstration Zone Construction and Development Plan and the Miao Medicine Industry Development Implementation Plan, systematically deploying a long-term development path for TCM in Nanming.

Nanming plans to build a TCM health care service system, a TCM trade port in Guizhou province, and a TCM health industry cluster.

Nanming is currently cooperating with the Second Affiliated Hospital of Guizhou Provincial Traditional Chinese Medicine to build the Nanming District Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital in Huaguoyuan. Construction on the project has already been completed.

When put into use, it will provide more convenient and high-quality TCM and health care services for residents of the jurisdiction.

Meanwhile, Nanming has continuously established and improved the TCM service system at grassroots health institutions. All grassroots medical and health service centers in the district have set up standardized TCM halls and village clinics can provide basic medical treatment and preventive health care services for common and frequently-occurring illnesses.

Moreover, Nanming district and the Guizhou Big Health Industry Federation signed a cooperation agreement to jointly build a major health industry headquarters base in the Huaguoyuan Twin Towers, promote cooperation with the China-ASEAN Federation, and advance the construction of the China-ASEAN Traditional Chinese Medicine Foreign Exchange and Cooperation Exhibition Center.

The e-commerce platform and the traceability system of Chinese herbal medicines in Guizhou province have now been officially launched for trial operation.

In addition, Nanming will promote the planting of Miao medicine, advance Miao medicine processing and build a transaction channel to assist with the development of the Miao medicine industry.
