The China International Big Data Industry Expo 2022 was held online on May 26, with the opening ceremony held in Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
More than 100 leading companies from China, Germany, Japan and other countries and regions participated in the expo online.
The Nanming district of Guiyang is a major precinct in the city that is developing its big data industry and great results are believed to have been delivered in the wake of the district's sustained efforts.
In 2021, the number of big data enterprises above a designated size -- those with annual sales of 20 million yuan ($3 million) -- in Nanming district reached 39. In addition, total revenue from the internet and related software and information technology services there came in at 3.27 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 28.8 percent.
During last year's Big Data Expo, the third Tencent Cloud Digital Economy Industrial Center in the country officially settled in Nanming district.
The center combines the manufacturing of digital economy terminals applications products, to create a complete digital economy industry supply chain. It also promotes the entrepreneurship and gathering of small, medium and micro-sized enterprises inside and outside the district.
In the first quarter of this year, 27 enterprises involved in scientific research and technical services achieved an operating income of 612 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 580 million yuan.
Nanming has formulated the 14th Five-Year Plan for the Development of Digital Economy in Nanming District and the Three-Year Action Plan for New Infrastructure in Nanming District (2021-2023). These are expected to provide more accurate top-level design and policy support for the development of the digital industry in the region.
Meanwhile, Nanming has implemented its big data strategy to promote the deep integration of big data and the real economy.
In 2021, Nanming guided 250 real economy enterprises to deeply integrate with big data and also installed 866 5G base stations, ranking it first in the city.
Moving forwards, plans are for Nanming to promote the development of smart municipal government by making full use of big data, artificial intelligence and other technical means to promote the optimization of its work processes.
