Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, has been put on a path to new-type industrialization after altering its previous industrial structure and development layout.
Plans are for Nanming to develop both a dominant industry and a characteristic industry.
The former refers to the electronic information manufacturing industry focusing on chips, packaging and testing, semiconductors, sensors, electronic components, electronic displays, and electronic information end products, while the latter refers to the innovative development of traditional Chinese medicine.
After years of effort, in 2021, Nanming became home to 10 enterprises above a designated size, and the district's industrial enterprises paid 734 million yuan ($110.13 million) in taxes throughout the year.
Local enterprise Guizhou Zhongke Molecular Biology Co is a good example of Nanming's new-type industrialization practice.
The enterprise set up operations in Nanming in June 2021 and is projected to invest 210 million yuan to build the Guizhou Modern Traditional Chinese Medicine Application Innovation Demonstration Center.
The center aims to build a modern traditional Chinese medicine industry chain represented by the molecular essence of Ganoderma lucidum.
"We are stepping up construction on an unmanned factory, which is scheduled to be completed and put into production in May." according to Jin Zhengxu, general manager of Guizhou Zhongke Molecular Biology Co.
The factory is projected to be able to process 20 tons of Ganoderma lucidum per day, which will help a large number of Ganoderma lucidum growers in Guizhou to increase their incomes and promote the accelerated development of Guizhou's agricultural modernization, under-forest economy and big health industry.
