Cuiwei Alley, a typical example of an old alley in Guiyang's urban area, has taken on a new look after a renovation project.
The alley is located in Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
It starts from Nanming Bridge on Xinhua Road in the west and ends at Jiaxiu Primary School in the east, with a total length of 300 meters and a width of 5 meters.
In the early years, the drainpipe network of Cuiwei Alley was severely clogged, resulting in dirty and smelly roads, as well as small, crowded and chaotic public spaces.

After renovations, the alley has been transformed into a historical, cultural and recreational block, with clean and tidy roads, new Chinese-style shops, and walls with poems and paintings.
These changes have given the alley a new look and made it a more pleasant place for locals.
