Officials of Nanming district in Guiyang – capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province – participated in voluntary tree-planting activities on Feb 7, in a bid to make new achievements in the region's ecological civilization construction.
The activities saw the participation of Huang Chenghong, Party secretary of Nanming district. Also helping out were Liu Guijun, head of Nanming district government and Luo Jun, director of the standing committee of Nanming people's congress, among others.

A total of 300 trees – from the osmanthus, crape myrtle and camphor varieties – were planted that day, covering an area of 5 mu (0.33 hectares).
In recent years, Nanming has made continuous efforts to improve its environment.
In 2021, Nanming also completed voluntary planting of trees covering 5 mu. That year, the district's forest coverage rate reached 41.82 percent.
