The Nanming district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province, generated a GDP of 97.77 billion yuan ($14.68 billion) in 2021 -- a year-on-year increase of 6.6 percent -- ranking it first among the districts and county-level cities administered by Guiyang.
In 2021, the total output value of Nanming's construction industry, total retail sales of social consumer goods, wholesale and retail sales, housing, restaurant and catering sales, as well as the actual utilization of foreign capital, all ranked first in the city.
Meanwhile, in 2021, sales of the district's wholesale industry reached 198.08 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 19.4 percent and retail sales came in at 49.69 billion yuan, a gain of 16.4 percent.
In addition, the district's restaurant and catering sector turnover hit 7.38 billion yuan, surging 30.6 percent compared with that in 2020.
Furthermore, Nanming ranked first in Guiyang city and third in Guizhou province in terms of business promotions and it ranked eighth in Guizhou in its business environment assessment.
