Nanming stages events to celebrate Spring Festival

A series of events to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival recently kicked off in the Nanming district of Guiyang, capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

The activities were reportedly launched by the Nanming Library, in order to generate a festive ambiance.

They feature exhibitions, among other things, as well as the composing of Spring Festival couplets that express best wishes for the new year -- giving residents and tourists the chance to experience the delights of local handicrafts and traditional folklore.

The activities are scheduled to run to Feb 15.
