Nanming sets five-year development goals

The Tenth CPC Nanming District Congress was held in Nanming district in Guiyang, capital of Southwest China's Guizhou province, on Oct 26-27.

The congress passed the "Resolutions of the Tenth CPC Nanming District Congress on the Report of the Ninth CPC Nanming District Congress" and the "Resolutions of the Tenth CPC Nanming District Congress on the Work Report of the Disciplinary Inspection Committee of the CPC Nanming District Committee."

Meanwhile, the congress summarized major work since the Ninth CPC Nanming District Congress and put forward the goals and main tasks for the next five years.

In the past five years, the regional GDP of Nanming district jumped from 65.40 billion yuan ($9.81 billion) in 2016 to 89.23 billion yuan in 2020, with an average annual growth rate of 9.9 percent.

By the end of 2020, the permanent population was 1.05 million, and the urbanization rate of permanent residents was 95.06 percent.

A total of 187 grassroots cultural service centers were established, and libraries and branches of cultural centers achieved full coverage of Nanming's townships and sub-districts.

The environmental quality of surface water in Nanming district was 100 percent.

Meanwhile, 100 percent of drinking water sources met standards. The forest coverage rate and average environmental air quality rate reached 41.68 percent and 98 percent, respectively.

The next five-year plans for Nanming district are expected to reach a regional GDP of more than 140 billion yuan, have a permanent population of 1.15 million, and realize an urbanization rate of permanent residents of 98 percent.

Additionally, the total industrial output value of Nanming district will exceed 20 billion yuan, the number of industrial enterprises above designated size will come in at 40, and the total number of high-tech enterprises will double to 400. 

Also, cumulative industrial investment in Nanming district will exceed 20 billion yuan, and private investment will account for 60 percent of fixed asset investment. 

The business environment in Nanming district should remain at the forefront of Guizhou province.
