Tencent Cloud Digital Economy Industry Base unveiled its nameplate on May 25 in Nanming district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.
It is the third of its kind established in China by internet giant Tencent.
Settlement of the base is in line with Nanming district's strategy to establish itself as a new-type digital industry cluster area, which was proposed by the district in the first half of 2020.
The strategy calls for Nanming to develop artificial intelligence, big data, the internet of things and blockchain as its core leading industries, accelerate the construction of new infrastructure, use digitization to empower economic development, and cultivate and optimize the digital industry ecology.
In August, 2020, Nanming district officially introduced Tencent Cloud to participate in the construction of the district's digital economy industry.
It also introduced 11 enterprises, of which seven firms are serving as Tencent's business partners, to settle in the district.
When the Tencent Cloud Digital Economy Industrial Base begins official operations, it will focus on supporting the development of medium-sized digital innovation enterprises, applying new digital technologies and new formats, and supporting the acceleration of the incubation and transformation of innovation achievements. It will also make key technologies inclusive and flexible.
Using Tencent's core technology platform, it will assist enterprises in digital research and development and provide enterprises with a wealth of digital products and technical services.
