The first meeting of the RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee was held on May 18 in Nanming district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province.

Through the meeting's online and offline activity agenda, attendees carried out in-depth exchanges on industrial cooperation and talked about the future of sustainable development.

Xu Ningning, chairman of the RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee, pointed out that the committee's establishment is of great significance for countries in the region to further open up their markets, promote the development of industrial integration and tap the potential for regional economic growth.

Member countries should complete the RCEP approval work, regulate the use of the RCEP agreement and promote the RCEP agreement's transformation into tangible economic development results as soon as possible, Xu added.

Nanming district, as the organizer of the meeting, will establish more platforms to boost industry cooperation among RCEP member countries and accelerate opening-up.

The RCEP Industry Cooperation Committee was established in Beijing on April 14 to encourage regional industrial cooperation and advance the implementation of the RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) agreement.

The RCEP area, composed of China, Japan, South Korea, Australia, New Zealand and 10 ASEAN countries, is a free trade zone with the largest population, the largest economy, the most diverse membership structure and the greatest potential for development in the world.
