An unveiling ceremony for the RCEP Industry Cooperation Research Institute and China-ASEAN Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Cooperation Committee Secretariat was held on May 18 in Nanming district in Guiyang, the capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province. The observance marked a new chapter in industrial cooperation between Guizhou and RCEP (Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership) countries.
Nanming district's government signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the China-ASEAN Business Council in Beijing on April 29.
As a result, the RCEP Industry Cooperation Research Institute and the China-ASEAN Traditional Chinese Medicine Industry Cooperation Committee Secretariat will be established in Nanming and start operating in May.

At the ceremony, Guiyang's municipal government also signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the China-ASEAN Business Council.
Tao Pingsheng, vice-mayor of Guiyang's municipal government, delivered a speech at the ceremony, saying that Guiyang is located in the center of Southwest China. It is an important transportation hub and a "frontier city" connecting to the 10 ASEAN countries.
Tao expressed his hopes that Guiyang and ASEAN countries can share new development opportunities, continue to deepen industry complementarity and jointly build a new platform for cooperation.
