In recent years, Nanming district of Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- has seen its grassroots medical health services improve by leaps and bounds.
During the 13th Five-year Plan period (2016-20) the district has, among other things, promoted the standardized development of grassroots medical and health service institutions.
It has improved their service environment and made it far easier for residents to see a doctor, so that everyone can enjoy the health dividend of economic and social development.
At present, there are 575 medical and health institutions in the district. There are 11,471 hospital beds, 15,853 technical health personnel, 5,762 practicing and assistant physicians and 8,033 registered nurses.
During the period, nine new community health service centers and two township health centers were built, with a total area of 40,391 square meters.
A total of 19 standardized construction projects for township health centers and community health service centers were implemented, with a completion rate of 100 percent. During the period, the development rate of standardized digital immunization outpatient services was 100 percent.
By the end of 2019, outpatient and emergency visits conducted by the medical institutions in the district reached 511,500, an increase of 114.82 percent over 2015.
The number of family doctor teams there has increased from 31 to 97 and the number of team members has increased from 96 to 570. Last year, there were 237,900 residents signed healthcare contracts with family doctors, 10 times the level in 2015.
At the same time, the district fully integrated and utilized the medical resources of the district. It established cooperative relations with eight provincial and municipal first-class hospitals at the grade 3 level.
