Three important renovation projects of old urban residential communities achieved great results when they recently got underway in Nanming district of Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- according to local media reports on Nov 26.
The investment budget for the renovation of the district's Guimian community -- one of the most important old residential areas in Nanming -- achieved 73.81 million yuan ($11.24 million), involving 37 buildings, 2,428 households and a building area of 210,000 square meters.
The project officially started in September. It aims to comprehensively improve the roads, gardens, underground pipe network, communications, lighting and power supplies to upgrade the infrastructure of the community.
At the same time, the district launched the renovation and upgrading of Jiujialu lane old residential community, with an investment budget of 8.43 million yuan.
In addition, in the middle of September, Nanming began the renovation and upgrading of the No 1, 2 and 3 residential yards in Cinan lane. The work involves 75 households, covering an area of 7,000 sq m and an outlay of 3.19 million yuan.
Community is the heart of the lives of residents and its level of services directly affects their sense of gain, happiness and security.
