Nanming district reports GDP growth in first three quarters

In the first three quarters, the GDP of Nanming district in Guiyang -- capital city of Southwest China's Guizhou province -- came in at 59.54 billion yuan ($8.98 billion), up 2.3 percent year-on-year, according to local media reports on Nov 11.

The GDP increase for the nine-month period was 11.4 percentage points higher than that of the first quarter and 3.9 percentage points higher than the half year's gain.

The production and operation of the district's businesses performed efficiently and the economy maintained a good growth trend. The added value of industries above designated size increased by 11 percent year-on-year, ranking the district third in the city. The growth rate in the first three quarters was 6.1 percentage points higher than that of the city and 9.6 percentage points higher than that in the first half of the year.

The district's investment in fixed assets decreased by 3.9 percent over the same period last year, although investment in construction and installation projects increased by 3.6 percent year-on-year, 6.8 percentage points higher than that in the first half of the year.

Retail sales in the zone reached 42.47 billion yuan, ranking first in the city, with a year-on-year increase of 5 percent, and 4.6 percentage points higher than that in the first half of the year.

In the first three quarters, 32,200 new urban jobs were created, ranking second in the city, an increase of 9,846 over the first half of the year.

Per capita disposable income of urban residents in the district reached 30,486 yuan -- 3,527 yuan and 214 yuan, respectively, above the average level of the province and the city.

That represented a year-on-year increase of 4.5 percent, 3 percentage points higher than that of the first quarter and 0.7 percentage points higher than that in the first half of the year.
